Waverform

Form analytics for questionnaires

See where people stop, hesitate and change their answers

Most form tools keep only the final answer. Waverform also records how each person got there, question by question, and writes that journey next to the answers in a Notion database.

Waverform is in early access: it runs our own questionnaires today, and we are opening it to a few teams.

What a form records, besides the answers

  • Where people stop

The last question each person worked on before leaving, so you see which question loses people.

  • Changed answers, from what to what

Not a count of corrections: every change of a choice with its old and new value, and when it happened.

  • Hesitation on each option

How long the pointer or keyboard focus rested on each option before the choice. Recorded only when the person allows it.

  • Seconds on each question

When each question was shown and how long the person spent on it.

  • Pauses and wrong tries

When the page went to the background and came back, and every send attempt with a field still wrong.

  • Forms left unsent

How far a person got before leaving, without the name, email or other text they typed. Recorded only when the person allows it.

How it works

  • Describe the form in one file

Questions, options and a question tree: an answer decides which question comes next, so people skip what does not apply to them.

  • People answer on a light page

No third-party script runs on the form. Our own consent banner says plainly what is recorded.

  • Answers and journey land in Notion

One row per person: the answers in their own columns, a readable journey summary, the raw events and the person's privacy choice.

Form builders, form analytics tools and Waverform

Form builders keep the final answers. Form analytics tools time fields on someone else's form through their own script. Waverform builds the form and records the journey itself.

Who it is for

  • Founders doing customer discovery

Problem interviews, product-market-fit surveys and waitlists: see which question confused people, not only what they answered.

  • UX researchers and product teams

Screeners and concept tests with the measures researchers know: time on each question, changed answers and hesitation.

  • Agencies collecting leads

Quote and onboarding forms that show where leads drop off, without a second analytics tool on the page.

  • Teams that work in Notion

Intake and application forms whose answers and journeys sit together in a Notion database.

First-party by design

Every event is recorded by Waverform's own script and sent only to Waverform's own server. The page loads no analytics, advertising or session-recording service.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Quebec, hesitation and forms left unsent are recorded only after the person accepts. Text a person types is never part of the journey. Privacy policy

Questions and answers

What is form analytics?

Form analytics measures how people fill in a form, not only what they send: where they stop, how long each question takes and which answers they correct. Waverform records this inside the form it builds, so each journey stays tied to its answers.

How is Waverform different from Typeform or Tally?

Typeform, Tally and similar form builders keep the final answers, and show drop-off per question on paid plans. Waverform also keeps every changed answer with its old and new value, and how long people rested on each option before choosing.

How is it different from Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity?

Session replay tools record the whole page through a third-party script, and someone has to watch the recordings one by one. Waverform records the events of the form itself and writes them as one readable row per person.

Where are the answers stored?

In a Notion database, one per form: one row per person with the answers in their own columns, a readable journey summary, the raw events and the person's privacy choice.

Can a form skip questions that do not apply?

Yes. Each form has a question tree: an answer can decide which question comes next, and the server requires only the questions on the person's own path.

Do respondents know what is recorded?

Yes. A banner says what is recorded, and in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Quebec hesitation and forms left unsent are recorded only after the person accepts. Typed text is never part of the journey.
